Major responsibility is processing Medicaid applications for our Spanish speaking patients who need financial assistance. Proficiency in verification of Medicaid application. Increases knowledge of Medicaid categories; DHS programs and UAMS internal programs. Beginning understanding of Medicaid policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or High School diploma plus 4 years formal interpreting experience Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively. Strong computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers. Excellent customer relations skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience interpreting and translating, preferably in a medical setting, including one year medical, Medicaid, and clerical experience Experience in healthcare insurance and billing. Knowledge in advanced medical terminology and medical coding. Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish.
