This position is responsible for developing new business, growing existing customer relationships, and achieving revenue and margin objectives through the sale ofHVAC maintenance agreements, service and repair projects, building automation solutions, turnkey projects, and comprehensive mechanical/HVAC solutions.
The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional who understands commercial HVAC and can identify customer needs, develop tailored solutions, present proposals, negotiate contracts, and successfully manage opportunities from initial contact through project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within an assigned territory.
Build, maintain, and expand relationships with existing customers.
Develop a strong understanding of HVAC, building automation, mechanical contracting, service, and maintenance solutions.
Prospect for new customers through networking, referrals, industry organizations, and other business development activities.
Develop account strategies and action plans to increase sales, profitability, and customer retention.
Qualify leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle.
Work collaboratively with internal sales, estimating, operations, and project teams.
Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
Identify customer operational, financial, environmental, and facility needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Prepare estimates and develop appropriate pricing and sales strategies.
Prepare and present proposals to customers.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms and conditions.
Confirm project scope, materials, and customer requirements before project execution.
Communicate critical project information to operations and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction, or another technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
5+ years of commercial HVAC sales experience or experience in a related technical field.
Demonstrated success in business development and consultative selling.
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical services, and/or building automation.
Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to travel throughout the assigned territoryat least 50% of the time; overnight travel is generally not required.
