Ribbon SBC Engineer RemoteWe are looking for a candidate who can work on German business hours. They can work remotely from the US.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Ribbon SBC Engineer with strong hands-on experience working with Ribbon Session Border Controllers (SBC), PSX, and RAMP platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise voice and network infrastructure. The role requires strong knowledge of SIP, VoIP, routing, signaling, and hands-on experience with Ribbon products.
Key Responsibilities: Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Ribbon SBC environments. Work extensively with Ribbon PSX (Policy and Routing Server) and RAMP platforms. Troubleshoot SIP signaling, call routing, registration, and call-flow issues. Configure and manage SIP trunks, routing rules, dial plans, and number translation. Analyze SIP messages and troubleshoot call setup, routing, and media-related issues. Perform configuration changes, upgrades, migrations, and software updates on Ribbon platforms. Troubleshoot voice quality, call failures, one-way audio, no-audio, and interoperability issues. Work with telecom carriers, service providers, and internal network teams to resolve complex voice issues. Support integration of Ribbon SBCs with telecom networks, PBX systems, softswitches, and other voice platforms. Configure routing and policy rules through PSX.Support RAMP administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Monitor SBC health, traffic, alarms, and system performance. Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities. Perform root-cause analysis and document technical issues and resolutions. Support production deployments and maintenance activities in a highly available enterprise environment.
Required Skills: 5-8 years of experience in Telecom / Voice / Network Engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC.Hands-on experience with Ribbon PSX.Hands-on experience with Ribbon RAMP.Strong understanding of SIP and VoIP technologies. Experience troubleshooting SIP call flows and signaling. Strong understanding of SIP trunking and call routing. Experience with dial plans, routing policies, number translation, and normalization. Knowledge of RTP, SRTP, TLS, and related voice protocols. Strong understanding of IP networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls. Experience troubleshooting voice connectivity and interoperability issues. Ability to analyze SIP traces and network captures using tools such as Wireshark.
Preferred Skills: Experience with Ribbon SWe Edge / SBC 1000 / SBC 2000 or related Ribbon SBC platforms. Experience integrating Ribbon SBC with Microsoft Teams, SIP providers, PBX, IMS, or carrier networks. Knowledge of IMS / VoLTE / VoWiFi environments. Experience with high-availability and geographically redundant SBC deployments. Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments. Experience with network monitoring and logging platforms. Knowledge of automation or scripting using Python or Shell is a plus. Ribbon certifications are a plus.
