Duties include performing workups of patients, various vision tests, collecting medical data, monitoring and maintaining patient flow, scribing, and assisting physicians with various procedures; as well as assisting with various administrative duties.
General Job Duties:
- Gathering medical records and patient information
- Taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional
- Preparing and administering medications
- Providing eye care information to patients
- Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Assisting the ophthalmologist in basic procedures
