Summary: The Account Manager will work alongside the Director of Sales and the Sales team while being responsible for managing client relationships, developing new clients, driving sales growth, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. You are expected to take full ownership of your territory, proactively identifying opportunities and managing client relationships. This role requires a highly organized and responsive individual who understands the importance of timely communication and strategic account management while representing Robertet in a positive way.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Manage a well-organized pipeline of prospects and active accounts using CRM tools (e.g., OracleCX), ensuring accurate, timely updates and leveraging client interaction data to support strategic decision-making. Prepare structured visit agendas and reports including actionable follow-ups after client and prospect meetings to drive engagement and account growth. Respond promptly to client or prospect inquiries or issues, maintaining high service standards and fostering trust. Promote new ingredient solutions to existing customers and prospective customers through scheduled presentations with purchasing, R&D, and applications teams. Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and execute customized account plans for all clients. Maintain detailed records of sales activities, including visit reports, company insights, sales potential (volume/value), and market share. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Apply effective negotiation techniques to secure favorable outcomes and build lasting client relationships.
Competencies: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., OracleCX) to track and manage client interactions. Demonstrated responsiveness and follow-through in client communications. Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills
Qualifications
Required: 2+ years of B2B sales, account management, or business development experience, preferably within ingredients, flavors, fragrance, food, beverage, personal care, or a related industryBS/BA degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field Strong business acumen and strategic thinking Excellent organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., OracleCX) and Microsoft Office tools Demonstrated ability to respond promptly and professionally to client needs
Preferred:
  • Experience in the ingredients, flavors, or fragrance industry
  • Familiarity with trade shows, client entertainment, and professional networking
  • Work Environment
This role offers a flexible work arrangement, including the ability to work from home (WFH). The primary office is located in Mt. Olive, NJ. The Account Manager is expected to be physically present in the office at least twice per month for team collaboration and business alignment. The position also requires: Travel for mandatory work meetings, client visits, and business development activities. (50% Travel) Attendance at industry conferences, events and trade shows assigned to support networking, learning, and brand representation. Occasional entertainment of clients as part of relationship-building efforts.
Physical Demands: This position requires extensive travel (approximately 50%), including domestic trips for client meetings, presentations, conferences, and trade shows. The role also involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, and carrying materials (e.g., product samples, presentation kits) weighing up to 30 pounds.
