In August of 2020 Madera Unified opened a new 8th grade, Middle School program with a focus on interdisciplinary work through the lens of Career Technical Education. The school is organized around six career-themed labs, with student cohorts receiving some of their courses at their home schools and a portion of their programming at Madera Technical Exploration Center (MTEC). Teachers need to have a strong instructional background with experience in the following: inter-disciplinary curriculum, project-based learning, and be able to work collaboratively with peers to plan and implement an authentically designed curriculum. Science is offered in two of our six labs. The current opening is in the Health Science lab. Specific Responsibilities1. Provide instruction in grade/subject assigned.2. Prepare materials needed to assist students.3. Implement policies, procedures, and mandates as required.4. Prepare and submit requested reports and plans in an accurateand timely manner.5. Participate in professional development.6. Participate in school, District, and department activities and meetings.7.
