About the role: Masterworks is looking for a hands-on recruiting leader to own hiring across the company. You'll be our sole recruiter, partnering directly with the CEO and leadership team to find and close talent for all business functions. You'll also oversee day-to-day people operations and lead our transition to a PEO in 2027, making sure employees have a smooth experience along the way. This dynamic role is a fit for someone who likes running their own desk, moves quickly, and enjoys building process where there isn't one yet.
What you'll do:
  • Recruiting (primary focus)
  • Own full-cycle hiring for key functions including Investment Advisors, Art Acquisitions & Sales, Valuations, Research, and Finance
  • Partner with the CEO and hiring managers to define roles, set hiring priorities, and align recruiting with business goals
Source and screen candidates, conduct interviews, host on-sites, and manage offer negotiations (using LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, NYFA, etc.)Manage the full recruiting process end to end, including scheduling, candidate communications, and ATS hygiene. Work closely with our Head of Engineering to shape our proprietary ATS, which we built in-house and are still iterating onTrack funnel and hiring metrics to spot trends and improve speed and quality of hire Deliver a candidate experience that reflects the Masterworks brand People Operations & PEO Transition Serve as the main HR point of contact for our PEO, partnering with Finance to lead the transition, including employee communications, benefits, and onboarding into new systems Field employee questions and concerns, escalating to the PEO, legal, or leadership as needed Coach managers through performance conversations, terminations, and internal moves Run onboarding and offboarding with professionalism and care Spot gaps in existing processes and build simple, practical fixes Own culture projects as they come up, like team events, happy hours, lunch & learns, and the annual holiday party WorkplaceManage our housekeeper and oversee day-to-day office operations Serve as the main point of contact for office vendors and stakeholders (Sharebite, Corporate Essentials, Fresh Direct, building management) Support workplace projects as they come up, such as office relocations
What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in a high-growth or lean environment
  • Track record of owning a high volume of open roles at once as a solo or primary recruiter
  • Experience hiring for sales and finance roles; financial services or art market exposure is a plus
  • Experience using or implementing AI tools to streamline recruiting and HR workflows
  • Working knowledge of HR fundamentals and employment practices; experience working with a PEO is a plus
  • Comfortable partnering directly with executives and giving candid input
  • Strong ability to manage up, keeping executives aligned on priorities and timelines and pushing back when needed
  • Highly organized and adaptable, discreet with confidential information, and able to move fast without dropping details
