Role Description:
The Benefit Plan Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and organizing detailed documentation for employer benefit plans, including plan summaries, policy descriptions, and compliance-related materials. This on-site role, based in Feasterville-Trevose, PA involves collaborating with account management, compliance, and client service teams to ensure all plan documents are accurate, consistent, and aligned with regulatory requirements and client expectations. Day-to-day tasks include gathering plan information from internal systems and stakeholders, drafting and revising benefit plan materials, formatting and proofing documents, and ensuring version control and timely delivery to clients. The specialist will also assist with process improvements for documentation workflows, support audits and renewals by preparing necessary documentation, and respond to internal and client inquiries related to plan language and structure. This position requires strong attention to detail, clear written communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications:
Experience with benefit plan documentation, health insurance, or employee benefits, including familiarity with plan designs, summaries of benefits, and policy language. Strong written communication skills, including drafting, editing, and proofreading documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent), document management systems, and version control practices. Knowledge of basic compliance considerations related to health plans (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA) or a willingness to learn and apply regulatory guidelines. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. Collaborative working style with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and respond to client and internal questions on plan documentation. Relevant experience in healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or a related field is preferred; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline is beneficial.
