Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and MaintenanceFluid Milk ManufacturingDry, Condensed, and Evaporated Dairy Product ManufacturingHigh Desert Milk is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor / Training Coordinator to provide leadership, training, and support for our Industrial Maintenance Technicians. This position works closely with the Maintenance Manager to improve equipment reliability, technician performance, safety, and overall maintenance effectiveness.
Because we operate a 24-hour manufacturing facility, this position must be flexible and willing to support both day and night shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily leadership, coaching, direction, and accountability to Industrial Maintenance Technicians across all shifts.
Assist with maintenance scheduling, staffing, work prioritization, and allocation of resources.
Monitor technician attendance, productivity, work quality, and performance.
Conduct coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and disciplinary conversations.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain a 95% or greater preventive maintenance completion rate and actively manage work-order backlog.
Ensure work orders are properly completed and documented within the CMMS.
Lead maintenance training for new and existing employees, including onboarding, qualification, refresher, and cross-training programs.
Evaluate technician skills and competencies and identify development opportunities.
Develop and maintain maintenance SOPs, JSAs, training materials, and training records.
Promote and enforce OSHA, GMP, food safety, LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, machine guarding, PPE, and other company safety requirements.
Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, shutdown planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Operations to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial equipment troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and employee development skills.
Experience with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
5+ years of maintenance experience in a milk, dairy, or food manufacturing facility.
Previous maintenance supervisory or team leadership experience.
Experience developing and conducting employee training.
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, industrial controls, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, compressed air systems, and food manufacturing equipment.
OSHA or related maintenance certifications.
