Medical-Surgical Trauma Spine Registered Nurse

Mission Health in Asheville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Med-Surg Trauma Spine unit. In this fast-paced setting, you’ll deliver evidence-based care to adult trauma and spine patients, perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate treatment plans. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and promote safe discharges. Provide direct nursing care to adult Med-Surg Trauma Spine patients Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing patient monitoring Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members on patient care Document care, assessments, and outcomes in the EHR accurately and timely Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and discharge instructions Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards Participate in unit-based quality improvement and clinical initiatives Support new staff and contribute to a collaborative, team-based culture Medical-surgical nursing Trauma nursing care Spine/orthopedic post-op care Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Care planning and coordination Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Wound and pain management Patient and family education Infection prevention and safety protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Trauma nursing certification (e.g., TNCC) preferred Medical-surgical nursing certification (e.g., CMSRN) a plus
