The Role:
The Dean of School Culture is a mission-critical leader who: Leads the development and implementation of schoolwide culture, behavior, and character systems. Maintains a visible presence throughout the school day and responds effectively to scholar behavioral and social-emotional needs. Coaches teachers and staff in establishing strong classroom culture, reinforcing expectations, and responding consistently to behavior. Uses behavior, attendance, and school culture data to identify trends, monitor progress, and develop responsive interventions. Partners with scholars, families, and staff to address concerns, repair harm, and build trusting relationships. Oversees disciplinary processes and documentation while ensuring compliance with school policies and legal requirements. Collaborates with school leaders and support staff to develop individualized plans for scholars requiring additional behavioral or social-emotional support. Plans and leads schoolwide celebrations, incentives, and traditions that strengthen belonging, joy, and scholar achievement.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children in a school, youth development, counseling, or related setting.
Demonstrated success leading others and building a positive, achievement-oriented culture.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution-focused in challenging situations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A deep belief in the potential of every scholar and a commitment to the mission and values of Galapagos Charter School.
