Commercial and Institutional Building ConstructionIndustrial Building ConstructionAll Other Specialty Trade ContractorsZar Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring commercial builds are delivered safely, on time, and within scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee commercial construction projects (office buildings, retail spaces, warehouses, industrial facilities, etc.) from initial concept through closeout
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for commercial builds
- Hire, supervise, and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site crews
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, architects, and engineers
- Ensure compliance with commercial building codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality control on commercial job sites
- Identify and resolve project risks, delays, or budget overruns
- Prepare progress reports and updates for stakeholders and ownership
- Negotiate commercial contracts and manage change orders
- Coordinate with general contractors and commercial building owners/developers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management (required)
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and local building codes
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsOSHA certification preferred (OSHA 30 a plus)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ground-up commercial construction and/or tenant improvement (TI) projects
- Familiarity with commercial estimating and bidding processes
- Ability to read and interpret commercial blueprints, specs, and construction documents
- Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously
