Every other weekend required. On-call coverage required on Sundays from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM as part of departmental rotation. Longer contracts available through February 2027. Highlights: Acute hemodialysis unit with 9 stations plus one isolation station Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2, providing individualized care for complex renal patients Work with Fresenius T hemodialysis machines and Baxter peritoneal dialysis equipment Experience with both ICU/PCU bedside treatments and dialysis room procedures Epic Dimensions charting system with comprehensive 24-hour orientation provided Scrubs provided by facility Requirements: Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state accepted) BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred CDN or CNN certification preferred Minimum 2 years of acute hemodialysis experience required Recent experience (within 1 year) with Fresenius equipment and peritoneal dialysis with Baxter equipment required First-time travelers accepted Competency with acute care inpatient dialysis, peritoneal dialysis/CAPD, and post-treatment access care Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Patient Population: End stage renal disease on dialysis Chronic kidney disease progressing to hemodialysis Acute kidney injury Peritoneal dialysis failure/infection requiring modality change Transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis Adult and geriatric patient populations Key Responsibilities: Provide acute hemodialysis treatments in dialysis room and at bedside for ICU/PCU patients Manage patients on ventilators, titratable IV drips, and airborne isolation Perform peritoneal dialysis including CAPD procedures Transport coordination via Epic patient transport system Float to support other departments as needed based on dialysis census fluctuations (support tasks only, not patient assignments) Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team response as required Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a specialized acute dialysis environment where you'll make a meaningful impact on patients with complex renal conditions.
