Perioperative Operating Room Registered Nurse

Surgicenter of Kansas City seeks an Operating Room Nurse to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. You will prepare patients for procedures, circulate and scrub during surgeries, manage instruments and sterile fields, and coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and techs to ensure optimal outcomes. The role includes patient assessments, medication administration, documentation, and advocacy throughout the surgical experience. Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients Circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical procedures Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques in the OR Prepare, count, and manage surgical instruments and supplies Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for safe, efficient procedures Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and document care accurately Administer medications and assist with anesthesia care per protocol Educate and advocate for patients and families throughout the surgical process Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and best-practice implementation Ensure compliance with regulatory, infection control, and facility policies Perioperative nursing Intraoperative patient monitoring Sterile technique and infection control Circulating and scrubbing skills Surgical instrumentation management Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Medication administration in perioperative setting Patient assessment and critical thinking Airway and hemodynamic monitoring support Interdisciplinary OR team communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in state of practice BLS (Basic Life Support) certification ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred/required CNOR certification preferred Previous perioperative/OR clinical experience or rotation Infection control and sterile technique training
