Under direction of others, gathers and analyzes data and assets of qualified plans. Supports Analysts in the preparation of notices and disclosures, government forms with schedules and attachments. Prepares distribution forms and loan paperwork. This role operates under close supervision and involves training with Analysts, Senior Analysts, or Team Managers to develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of plan administration.
About the Role:
- Gathers and analyzes census data to identify missing data and inconsistencies from the previous year.
- Reviews output with others to ensure accuracy of results; communicates issues and inconsistencies to appropriate analysts and assist with follow-up.
- Collects and compiles relevant data from multiple investment platforms; assists with reconciliation of trust assets to participant accounts.
- Assembles standard and ad hoc client reports; assists with preparation of required government reporting forms, schedules, and attachments; prepare notices, disclosures, and statements.
- Processes distribution requests; verify vesting; calculates amount available for loans and hardships.
- Trains with analysts to identify provisions in plan document as it relates to the administration of the plan.
- Pursues professional development and training to enhance professional skills and better understand industry regulations.
- Works with supervisor, team members, and Operations staff to make suggestions to continuously improve processes, procedures, and workflow; provides input on areas that affect own work.
- Job Specifications:
- General knowledge of data analytics, statistics and advanced mathematical calculation techniques as may be obtained with a 4-year degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business, or related technical field. Additional demonstrated experience may be substituted for education.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, perform mathematical calculations, identify, and solve problems and follow complex instructions.
- Ability to read and write at an advanced level to understand complex legal documents.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to internal staff and external clients and advisors in a manner that is clear and responsive to questions and issues.
- Ability to work individually and within a team. Ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software and internet literacy to perform analyses and produce professional reports and correspondence.
- Ability to learn and work with retirement plan related system platforms and software as may be gained through training, internships, or prior work experience.
- Understanding of DBZ policies, procedures, mission, goals, objectives, and organization values as acquired through company handbook, written policies, and on-the-job experience.
- Ability to successfully complete the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA)- RPF exams.
- Normal office conditions 100%. Sedentary for extended time periods while working on a computer. This role routinely uses office equipment such as computers and phones.
