Pediatric Hygeine Assistant

Role Description: The Pediatric Hygiene Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Liberty, MO and Kansas City, MO. This role supports pediatric dental providers by preparing treatment rooms, setting up and organizing instruments, and assisting with routine hygiene procedures such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealant placement under appropriate supervision. Day-to-day responsibilities include helping patients and families feel comfortable, reviewing basic oral hygiene instructions, supporting patient flow and scheduling, and maintaining a clean, safe, and child-friendly clinical environment. The Pediatric Hygiene Assistant also follows infection control protocols, complies with health and safety regulations, and collaborates closely with dentists, hygienists, and front office team members to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong patient care and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with children, parents, and team members. Candidates should possess safe and effective manual handling skills, including assisting with seating patients, positioning equipment, and managing clinical supplies. Candidates should possess knowledge of basic medicine and pediatric oral health concepts appropriate to a dental hygiene support role. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of health & safety practices, including infection control, sterilization procedures, and adherence to clinic protocols. Candidates should ideally have prior experience in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, or a clinical support role; dental assistant or related certification is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training in dental assisting or healthcare is beneficial.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00 Schedule Typical work week is Monday through Thursday, 8:15 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with occasional Friday mornings for in-office sedation appointments.
