PACU Registered Nurse

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our PACU team. In this role, you’ll provide expert post-anesthesia care, closely monitoring patients as they recover from surgery, managing pain, vital signs, and potential complications. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams to deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care. Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care in the PACU Continuously assess and monitor vital signs, pain, and recovery status Administer IV fluids, medications, and pain management per orders Recognize and respond to post-operative complications and emergencies Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR Educate patients and families on post-op expectations and discharge instructions Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff Maintain infection control and patient safety standards Support a culture of compassion, teamwork, and patient-centered care Participate in ongoing education and competency development Post-anesthesia patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring Airway management support Pain and sedation management Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Recovery room protocols and standards Patient and family education Infection control and safety compliance Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license BLS certification ACLS certification PALS certification (preferred) PACU or critical care training
