Director Of Major EventsCity Presentation and Project: The city of Nîmes (150,000 inhabitants) is looking for its director of major events. Throughout the year, numerous events and festivals take place, with the Ferias and the Festival of Nîmes being among the most important, contributing to the animation of the city and its attractiveness for both locals and visitors. This strategic position for our community revolves around two major challenges: To build with the elected officials and lead the municipal event strategy to strengthen the attractiveness and social cohesion of the territory. To design and deliver an annual portfolio of public events. Required Profile: Knowledge of the institutional environment of local authorities and the territorial ecosystem. Solid knowledge of public law, contractualization (DSP, ODP, public contracts). Ability to prepare, follow, and control the execution of a budget within a local authority. Knowledge of the local, national, and international event ecosystem. Mastery of project engineering and event management modes. Experience in team management. Ability to dialogue with staff to improve the organization of their activities and the quality of service. Ability to build and provide clear activity benchmarks to the team. Ability to define and lead the implementation of projects and service activities in line with the policy of the local authority. Ability to share with staff the requirements of an evolving public service. Ability to lead and animate projects. Ability to protect staff and managers from risks related to their professional activities. Constraints and Specificities: High seasonality, peaks of activity in the evenings/weekends/public holidays. Operational on-call duties during events. Mandatory presence on site.
