Cardio Vascular Tech I Per Diem/Days

Salary Range: $42.36 To $49.63 AnnuallyPOSITION SUMMARYDEFINITIONUnder general supervision, performs a variety of specialized technical duties involving the sonograph and physiological pressure monitoring systems; and performs other related duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education: Possession of A.A. degree in related cardiopulmonary health science or closely allied health field is desired or post high school vocational/specialized training.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred as cardiovascular technician in an acute care hospital setting preferably in cardiac echo/vascular sonography department. Licensure/CertificationBLS certification. Certified in vascular and cardiac ultrasoundKNOWLEDGE & ABILITIESKnowledge of:

• Anatomy and Physiology.
• Ultrasonography of the heart and vascular anatomy.
• Diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
• Ultrasound techniques and examinations
• Report writing.
• Ability to:
• Operate equipment used in monitoring and other diagnostic equipment.
• Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.
• Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Prepare necessary reports and records.
