The company designs and builds specialized industrial machinery and fluid-handling equipment for a range of applications. This position focuses on the mechanical design of larger machine assemblies, including equipment bases, structural frames, and systems that support pumps, motors, control enclosures, and other mechanical components. This is a hands-on design role involving a mix of modifying existing equipment designs and developing new concepts for custom machinery.
Responsibilities:
Design and modify mechanical structures, machine bases, frames, and equipment assemblies using SolidWorks.
Create detailed 3D models, mechanical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Work with existing designs to accommodate project-specific requirements and equipment configurations.
Apply mechanical engineering principles involving power transmission, weldments, machining, and mechanical assemblies.
Incorporate mechanical and electrical components, including sensors and switches, into equipment designs.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and manufacturable.
Manage assigned design deliverables to support project timelines.
Requirements:
Strong, hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks 2024 or later is required. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in this platform.
Approximately 5+ years of professional SolidWorks design experience preferred.
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including power transmission, weldments, and machining.
Familiarity with electronic components commonly used in industrial machinery, such as proximity sensors and limit switches.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
A mechanical engineering degree or related technical education is beneficial but not required. Relevant hands-on design experience will be prioritized.
Preferred Experience:
Mechanical design of custom machinery, industrial equipment, or automated systems.
Experience with larger mechanical assemblies, structural frames, and fabricated equipment.
Familiarity with pumps, motors, and fluid-handling equipment.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical designer who enjoys hands-on engineering, working with custom industrial equipment, and seeing their designs come to life on the manufacturing floor.
