Role Summary: We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Cruise Vacation Specialist to assist individuals, couples, families, and groups with planning memorable ocean and river cruise vacations. In this role, you will help clients navigate cruise options, compare itineraries, coordinate reservations, and organize the many details that go into a successful vacation. This may include cruise accommodations, airfare, hotels, transportation, excursions, travel protection, and pre- or post-cruise arrangements. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys researching destinations, working with people, staying organized, and turning a client's vacation ideas into a thoughtfully planned experience.
What Success Looks Like: A successful Cruise Vacation Specialist provides responsive, professional service while creating vacation recommendations that reflect each client's preferences, needs, and budget. Success in this role means communicating clearly, maintaining accurate client and reservation information, following through on important details and deadlines, and building positive relationships with clients and travel suppliers.
Key Responsibilities: Consult with clients to understand their vacation preferences, interests, budget, and travel needs. Research ocean and river cruise options, itineraries, ships, destinations, accommodations, and available experiences. Compare vacation options and provide personalized recommendations based on client preferences. Coordinate cruise reservations and related services, including airfare, hotels, ground transportation, excursions, and other vacation components. Communicate with cruise lines, hotels, tour providers, and other travel suppliers to confirm availability and reservation details. Assist clients with pre- and post-cruise planning when applicable. Provide clients with important reservation information, payment deadlines, itinerary details, and travel updates. Maintain accurate and organized client records, communications, and reservation information. Assist with reservation changes and client questions before and during travel when needed. Stay informed about cruise destinations, ships, itineraries, promotions, and industry developments. Provide professional and timely communication throughout the planning process.
Qualifications & Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Basic computer skills, including email, web navigation, online research, and data entry. Comfortable learning and using online booking systems and digital communication tools. Reliable internet access and regular access to a computer. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client requests and deadlines. Self-motivated with a proactive and professional approach. Previous cruise, travel, hospitality, sales, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills: Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to research, compare, and clearly explain multiple options. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Comfortable communicating with clients by phone, email, and virtual platforms. Interest in ocean cruising, river cruising, destinations, resorts, and vacation planning. Ability to build positive relationships with clients and service providers. Comfortable managing multiple reservations, deadlines, and client needs simultaneously. A service-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for helping others create memorable experiences.
