EVONA is partnering with an RF and microwave hardware manufacturer supporting defense, aerospace, unmanned systems, and space applications. We’re seeking an Engineering Assembler to build and rework electronic assemblies, RF modules, and prototype hardware. Approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the role involves prototype assembly, working closely with engineers to build, modify, and improve new products.
What you’ll do:
  • Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, RF modules, and systems using drawings and work instructions.
  • Solder small surface-mount components, including sizes as small as 0402, under a microscope.
  • Build and install wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and mechanical/electrical components.
  • Rework prototype boards and incorporate engineering changes.
  • Support circuit modifications such as trace cutting and jumper-wire installation where needed.
  • Inspect assemblies for solder quality, build accuracy, component orientation, and polarity.
  • Use soldering equipment, hand tools, torque wrenches, and calipers to complete accurate assemblies.
  • Communicate assembly issues and corrective actions to engineering and test teams.
  • Required experience and skills
  • Hands-on experience soldering small PCB/surface-mount components under a microscope.
  • Relevant electronic and mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and their correct orientation and polarity.
  • Experience with wire termination, cables, harnesses, and standard assembly tools.
  • Understanding of electronics assembly quality standards, such as IPC-A-610.Strong attention to detail and clear communication.
  • High school diploma or GED.Availability to work onsite in East Brunswick, NJ, five days per week.
  • Preferred experience3–5 years of relevant assembly experience, with practical capability considered.
  • Engineering prototype assembly and PCB rework.
  • Trace cutting, jumper-wire installation, and dead-bugging—preferred, not mandatory.
  • Experience working to IPC-A-610 Class 3 requirements.
  • IPC certification—a plus, not required.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge or relevant ASQ certification.
