The company operates across multiple areas of mortgage finance and investment management and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior executives and professionals across investing, trading, strategy, treasury, and investor relations.
Position Overview:
The FP&A Associate will support a broad range of corporate finance initiatives, including financial planning, modeling, management reporting, treasury-related analysis, and strategic projects. This position is ideal for an analytical finance professional who enjoys working with complex financial information, building financial models, and translating data into meaningful insights for senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain financial models used for forecasting, planning, liquidity analysis, and evaluating business performance.
Prepare recurring financial reports and executive presentations that highlight key trends, results, and areas requiring attention.
Support senior leadership with financial analysis related to business performance, financing activities, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial and operational information and translate it into actionable analysis.
Analyze financing structures and assess the financial implications of different funding and investment alternatives.
Perform industry and competitor analysis to help management better understand market trends and relative performance.
Contribute to the company's forecasting and long-range planning processes, including projections and liquidity analysis.
Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting and planning processes through improved technology, automation, and data analytics.
Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from senior management and develop clear, data-driven recommendations.
Assist with projects involving treasury, investor relations, strategy, and other corporate finance functions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.
Approximately 2–4 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, treasury, capital markets, banking, asset management, or a related analytical role.
Previous experience within financial services, banking, capital markets, asset management, mortgage finance, structured products, or a similar environment.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Strong financial modeling, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SQL, Power BI/BI tools, and/or Power Query.
Exposure to mortgage finance, residential mortgage markets, structured products, or asset-backed finance.
Interest in pursuing a CFA, CPA, FRM, or comparable professional designation.
