Heavy Civil Project Manager - VALead major heavy civil projects. Own budgets, schedules, and project performance. Build toward senior project leadership. We are partnering with a long-established, family-owned U.S. specialty contractor to appoint an accomplished and ambitious Project Manager to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of major heavy civil and demolition projects, working closely with owners, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and senior leadership to deliver projects safely, profitably, and to the highest standard. The Opportunity: As a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial and operational management of assigned projects, with responsibility for budgets, schedules, contracts, resources, and overall project performance. You will work closely with field leadership to ensure projects are properly resourced and executed, while maintaining strong relationships with owners, project engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders. This is much more than an administrative project management position. You will have significant influence over project profitability, production, resource utilization, and client relationships, while working alongside experienced operations and field teams to deliver complex construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include: Managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and overall financial performance Monitoring production, job costs, and resource utilization against estimates Working with Superintendents and Operations Managers on equipment and crew requirements Managing subcontractors, suppliers, material deliveries, and project documentation Negotiating and coordinating change orders, Extra Work Orders, and CORsPreparing monthly job cost and profit projections Maintaining strong relationships with owners, engineers, and key project stakeholders

What We're Looking For: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with the commercial awareness and leadership skills to manage complex heavy civil projects. The ideal candidate will have:5+ years of experience managing large commercial or heavy civil construction projects Strong understanding of construction estimating, take-offs, and cost control Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
