Adult Med Surg Registered Nurse

Mission Health is seeking an Adult Med Surg Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on our adult medical-surgical units in Asheville, NC. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications and treatments, and coordinate care using advanced technology in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. RNs at Mission Health support patient and family education, ensure safe transitions of care, and contribute to continuous quality improvement while growing their careers within a large, learning-focused health system. Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments, medication administration, and treatments Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and promptly respond to changes in condition Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain regulatory compliance Coordinate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to ensure safe, quality care Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards and participate in performance improvement initiatives Precept and mentor new nurses and support ongoing education and competency development Adult medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment and triage IV therapy and venipuncture Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Medication administration and reconciliation Wound care and post-surgical management Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and safety protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained within specified timeframe Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN or RN-BC) preferred
