We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Practice Leader to guide the growth and delivery of a high-performing water resources team. This is a senior technical and leadership opportunity for a professional who can combine strategic vision, client development and project excellence across a diverse portfolio of water, environmental and infrastructure projects. You will help shape practice direction, strengthen technical capability and foster a collaborative culture focused on quality, innovation and sustainable outcomes. Your responsibilities will include leading and mentoring multidisciplinary specialists; overseeing the successful delivery of complex water resources projects; and providing technical assurance across hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk, drainage, catchment management, water quality and related assessments. You will build strong relationships with clients, regulators, partners and stakeholders, identify new opportunities and contribute to proposals, bids and business plans. The role will also involve managing budgets, resources, risk and programme performance, while ensuring work is delivered to relevant legislation, standards, health and safety requirements and professional best practice. Applicants should have substantial experience in water resources consulting, engineering, environmental management or a closely related discipline, together with a relevant degree and appropriate professional accreditation or a clear commitment to achieving it. You will bring a proven record of leading technical teams and delivering complex projects, as well as strong commercial awareness and experience developing client relationships. Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills are essential, alongside the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical recommendations. A proactive, inclusive leadership style and commitment to developing people will be highly valued. Experience with industry-standard modelling, GIS and data analysis tools, and familiarity with current climate resilience and sustainable water management practices, would be advantageous.
