Senior Retail Sales Associate – Musical Instruments & Lessons

Music & Arts seeks a part-time Senior Sales Associate to support students, parents, and educators in our retail store. You’ll guide customers in choosing instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons, using your product knowledge and passion for music education to deliver an exceptional experience. Responsibilities include customer service, sales, rental processing, lesson enrollment, merchandising, and inventory support. You’ll collaborate with a friendly, student-focused team, help local schools access quality resources, and grow your skills in a mission-driven retail and education environment. Welcome and engage customers in a student-focused retail environment Assess customer needs and recommend instruments, rentals, and accessories Promote and enroll students in private lessons and education programs Process sales, rentals, returns, and special orders accurately Maintain store merchandising, cleanliness, and product displays Support inventory counts, stocking, and pricing updates Coordinate with school service reps to fulfill school program needs Meet or exceed individual and store sales and service goals Use POS and CRM systems to track sales, rentals, and lesson signups Collaborate with team members to support events and community outreach Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) systems Customer relationship management (CRM) use Cash handling and reconciliation Product knowledge – musical instruments Rental contract processing Merchandising and visual display Inventory management basics Lesson program enrollment and scheduling Basic Microsoft Office or Google Workspace Background check eligibility for working with students Basic music performance or education experience preferred Prior training in customer service or retail operations a plus
