We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and execute the company's HR function. This is a highly hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys doing the work-not simply managing or delegating to a team. The Director will oversee a Recruiter while personally managing employee relations, payroll, benefits, HR operations, compliance, and Paylocity administration. This individual will also serve as a trusted HR partner to company leadership. We are looking for an experienced HR leader who can move comfortably between strategic HR partnership and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate enjoys owning the HR function, solving problems, improving processes, and being directly involved in the day-to-day needs of employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day HR operations across the organization. Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, including performance management, investigations, corrective action, and employee concerns. Take hands-on ownership of payroll administration and related processes. Manage employee benefits, including enrollment, open enrollment, employee questions, and vendor/broker relationships. Serve as the internal Paylocity subject matter expert and ensure accurate HRIS/payroll administration. Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee records, and employment compliance. Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational needs, and employee matters. Oversee the company's Recruiter and support talent acquisition efforts as needed. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience.
Qualifications:
10–15+ years of progressive HR experience with broad, hands-on responsibility. Hands-on Paylocity experience required. Strong experience with payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations. Experience handling investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and terminations. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance. Experience overseeing or partnering with recruiting/talent acquisition. Comfortable operating as a hands-on HR leader in a growing organization with limited HR infrastructure. Strong judgment, discretion, communication, and ability to partner effectively with employees and senior leadership. Interested in learning more?
