Job Title Production Assembler Level 1 Reports to Lead person Department All Travel Overnight 0%-5% Location Marion, WI Status Full Time
General Summary: The job will be part of a Work Center that works together as a team to complete one phase of building our product. The production function assembles small, medium and large-size vehicle equipment for our advance customer needs.
Essential Job Functions: Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Rotate to different work stations in order to achieve a balanced line flow Effectively and accurately use VMI, Kanban cards, material withdrawal forms, stock, fabricated, and special order parts so inventory counts are correct Complete jobs within planned hours to ensure profitability Punch into jobs on TCM so that job hours can be accurately recorded Maintain regular attendance to prevent missing customer deadlines Adhere to Marion Body Works Inc. Quality Policy. Secondary Job Functions Interpret MBW safety policies/practices to employees including ensuring safe work practices and company policies are followed. Utilize available data to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability May be required to assist in instruction and training of workers with less experience Complete Non-conformance using quality program for quality issues and deviations, and all purchasing, order processing, and engineering inaccuracies so corrective action can be taken Serve as backup for other positions within the department. Compliance with all environmental, OSHA and quality standards Other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to efficiently function in fast-paced work environment Basic Computer skill Must be able to interpret work orders and production schedule Professional oral and written communication skills. Follow written communications and verbal instructions Ability to work and interact respectfully with other departments, including other work centers and engineering is a must. Possess a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve ones skills. Basic knowledge in shop math, be able to convert decimals and fractions, measure and build to within military specifications, check work for dimensional accuracy and correct as needed Proficient knowledge to use various power and machine tools. Must be able to use hand tools and measuring devices, as well as assembly fixtures to complete assemblies Perform 6S checks in area and report items not completed Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required Demonstrate complete knowledge of mission, value, and ethics statement.
Education and Experience: Prefer manufacturing experience Prefer High School Diploma or GED equivalent May require forklift certification
