Role Description:
This is an on-site role for a Prevention Coordinator at Western CT Coalition located in Watertown, CT.Western CT Coalition is seeking a full-time Prevention Coordinator to support the Regional Behavioral Health Action Organization (RBHAO) by expanding suicide prevention, postvention, and mental health promotion efforts across the lifespan.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between the 43 municipalities in western Connecticut, the RBHAO, and partners to facilitate needs assessment, capacity building and planning. Coordinate all aspects of assessment, capacity building, planning, and implementation of the regional workplan. Collect evaluation metrics to support the regional workplan. Conduct outreach to key partners interested in growing local suicide prevention initiatives. Provide services and support to regional partners. Attend local and statewide meetings including, but not limited to, CT Suicide Advisory Board, Region 5 Suicide Advisory Board, WCTC Committees and Workgroups. Interpret and share relevant data and prepare reports as required in the contract and as requested by the Executive Director. Ensure all deliverables are completed and submitted in accordance with state contract. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to work independently, use interpersonal skills, and manage priorities effectively Bachelor's degree in health-related discipline Knowledge/experience in the behavioral health field (suicide prevention, mental health, substance use, health promotion)Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS), or willing to obtain certification in a timely fashion. Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)Full-time salaried position with benefits (Health Insurance, PTO, etc.)
Office Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8-5:30, Closed Fridays
Salary Range:
