Construction Estimator (On Site) — Commercial & Healthcare [Northern New Jersey]Our client is a general contractor building commercial and healthcare projects across New Jersey. They need an estimator who can own a bid from plans to price. What you'll do: full quantity takeoffs, sub-solicitation, bid leveling, and proposal assembly on commercial ground-up and healthcare renovation work. You'll work directly with the owner and PMs. You should have a minimum of 5 years estimating for a GC. Healthcare estimating experience (infection control, phasing, MEP coordination) is a real plus. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs, including reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents. Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting, with experience preparing detailed estimates, cost breakdowns, and project budgets. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients and to document assumptions clearly. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel; experience with digital take-off tools and construction management platforms is highly beneficial. Previous experience as a construction estimator or in pre-construction for general contractors or specialty subcontractors is preferred. Strong analytical and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Relevant education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in the construction industry. Knowledge of local building codes, materials, labor markets, and trade practices in the New York region is an advantage.
