CONTRACTOR - Sr. IT Project Manager, Credit/Market Risk Delivery (NYC | Hybrid | NO 3rd PARTIES)

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of technology initiatives supporting Market Risk, Credit Risk, and trading-related platforms. The role is responsible for driving multiple concurrent workstreams from requirements and solution planning through build, testing, production deployment, and transition to ongoing support. This position requires a delivery-focused project manager who can operate effectively across Risk, Technology, Engineering, QA, Change, and governance teams. The successful candidate will combine strong financial-services domain knowledge with practical SDLC fluency, regulatory delivery experience, and hands-on use of modern AI and automation tools to improve project execution.

Key Responsibilities: Technology Delivery & Execution Lead end-to-end execution of approximately 3–5 concurrent technology projects or workstreams, covering requirements, development, testing, implementation, and transition to BAU support. Partner with engineering leads to manage sprint and release planning, backlog refinement, delivery velocity, dependencies, and impediment resolution. Maintain detailed project plans, milestone schedules, RAID logs, dependency maps, and delivery forecasts, proactively identifying issues before they affect critical dates. Work closely with Engineering and QA to reinforce disciplined SDLC practices, including code-review checkpoints, test coverage, release readiness, and production implementation controls. Convert regulatory and risk-management requirements, including FRTB, BCBS 239, SA-CCR, or comparable frameworks, into executable technology plans and track delivery through completion. Manage project financials and delivery capacity, including budget/run-rate tracking, resource planning, and vendor statement-of-work execution. Use approved AI and automation tools, such as Git Hub Copilot, Claude, Jira automation, or comparable platforms, to streamline requirements, test-case development, release documentation, meeting outputs, status reporting, and other SDLC activities. Develop reusable AI-enabled delivery practices and templates that can be adopted across the broader project and engineering organization. Business, Change & Stakeholder Management Serve as a primary technology delivery contact for Risk Management, business stakeholders, and partner teams, ensuring clear expectations, requirements, priorities, and scope. Produce concise project reporting, dashboards, executive updates, and steering-committee materials that clearly communicate progress, risks, decisions, and required actions. Manage scope changes and impact assessments through review, approval, and implementation. Coordinate UAT, business readiness, deployment communications, and go-live activities in partnership with Change and business teams. Provide accurate status, dependency, and risk information into broader program governance while retaining direct ownership of assigned projects and workstreams.

Required Qualifications: 8+ years of technology project or program delivery experience within financial services, with direct exposure to Market Risk, Credit Risk, trading technology, or closely related platforms. Demonstrated delivery of regulatory technology initiatives involving FRTB, BCBS 239, SA-CCR, or comparable risk and regulatory frameworks through production implementation. Strong understanding of software delivery practices and the ability to work credibly with Engineering and QA teams on development, testing, release, and production-readiness activities. Advanced hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, including workflows, dashboards, project tracking, and management reporting. Strong stakeholder-management and executive-communication skills, including risk escalation, status reporting, decision framing, and presentation of delivery options. Working knowledge of quantitative risk concepts such as Value at Risk (VaR), Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA), and P&L explain. Strong discipline around RAID management, cross-team dependencies, milestone tracking, and delivery governance. Working knowledge of project budget, resource, and vendor-management processes. AI & Automation Capability Advanced practical user of AI-assisted productivity and software-delivery tools, with experience creating repeatable workflows for project documentation, meeting minutes, RAID management, test cases, reporting, and related delivery artifacts. Ability to identify SDLC activities that can be safely automated or accelerated through AI while maintaining appropriate human review and quality controls. Understanding of data-governance, confidentiality, security, and regulatory considerations associated with the use of AI tools in a regulated financial-services environment. Willingness to share effective AI-enabled delivery patterns and help increase adoption across project and engineering teams.
