Job Summary:
The Associate Clinical Therapist/Counselor is an integral member of the Symba Center behavioral health team and provides direct mental health services to individuals seeking support for emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns. Under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Therapist, this role conducts client assessments, develops individualized treatment goals and plans, and provides therapeutic interventions designed to promote mental wellness, resilience, and personal growth. The Associate Clinical Therapist/Counselor works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting clients in achieving meaningful treatment outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following and other duties as assigned:
Provide individual, family, and group counseling services utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support clients' mental health, behavioral health, and treatment goals.
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, screenings, and evaluations to determine client needs, treatment recommendations, and eligibility for services.
Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans that are client-centered, measurable, and responsive to clinical needs.
Monitor client progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify therapeutic approaches and treatment goals as appropriate.
Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, safety planning, client triage, and stabilization services as needed.
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, payer requirements, and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, healthcare providers, schools, community agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and support positive client outcomes.
Refer clients and families to appropriate internal and external resources, support services, and community-based programs as needed.
Participate in case consultations, treatment team meetings, staff meetings, training programs, and other professional development activities.
Receive and incorporate clinical feedback through individual and group supervision while maintaining compliance with associate licensure requirements.
Support the clinical training and development of interns, trainees, or support staff as assigned and within the scope of licensure.
Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with applicable licensing board regulations, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
Travel between clinic locations, community settings, schools, homes, or partner agencies as necessary to provide services and support organizational needs.
Maintain confidentiality and protect client information in accordance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Master's degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, counseling, or a related field is required. A minimum of One (1) year of experience providing behavioral health, counseling, case management, social services, or related services is preferred. Experience working with individuals experiencing severe mental illness, substance use disorders, homelessness, housing instability, trauma, or other complex psychosocial challenges is highly preferred. Experience providing services within community-based, nonprofit, integrated care, or transitional housing environments is preferred.
The Company, at its sole discretion and on a non-precedent setting basis, may determine that a candidate/employee with less than the required year(s) of experience/education is qualified and eligible for placement in this role because of education and/or demonstrated competencies and proficiency.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Registration as an associate with the Board of Behavioral Science is required.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is preferred.
Other Qualifications: Ability to work flexible hours, as required, including weekends and holidays.
