Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages and directs the operation of the center's security program
Conducts investigations of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences
Provides written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to the appropriate staff
Establishes liaison and maintains harmonious relations with local law enforcement agencies
Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership of security staff
Manages and administers a departmental budget and works within budgetary constraints
Approves requisitions for security equipment, supplies, and materials
Oversees inventory control and maintenance of security equipment, supplies, and materials
Plans, organizes, and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with center and ETR policy and procedures

Competencies:
Proven management experience within the security industry, public sector, or armed services
Proven track record of building strong relationships with colleagues at all levels
Working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role
Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending and labor budgets
Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent written and verbal communication
Proven record of sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a "hands-on" problem-solving approach, able to remain calm, cool and collected under pressure and to take control of incidents
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
Proficient in using computer software such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Three years' experience in military and/or law enforcement, one of which was in a supervisory capacity
Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Must possess or obtain a valid commercial Class B driver's license with a passenger endorsement within three months of hire
