The Sensory Studio is a nurturing, family-oriented center dedicated to helping infants, children, and adolescents reach their full developmental potential. The team provides comprehensive services that integrate communication, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory processing, supported by licensed experts in Speech and Occupational Therapy. With three centers across Staten Island and convenient access to public transportation, the organization offers flexible individual and group therapy options. A vibrant sensory gym with state-of-the-art equipment, including swings, climbing structures, and vestibular and proprioceptive supports, enables therapeutic play and targeted exercises. Through evidence-based, personalized interventions, The Sensory Studio aims to make a direct and meaningful impact on each patient’s life. The Occupational Therapist at The Sensory Studio will deliver evidence-based, pediatric-focused therapy services to infants, children, and adolescents in an engaging sensory gym environment. Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, and providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions that address fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and functional daily living skills. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and other therapy professionals to support carryover of goals at home, school, and in the community. Additional duties include documenting sessions and progress, maintaining accurate clinical records, and contributing to peer groups and therapeutic programs that promote communication and social interaction. This is a full-time, on-site role based at The Sensory Studio centers in Staten Island, NY.
Qualifications: Master’s degree or entry-level professional degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current NYS license or eligibility for license as an Occupational Therapist in New York State. New grads preparing for licensing exams are welcome to apply! Excellent Communication skills to collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members. Experience working in pediatric outpatient, sensory integration, or similar settings is highly preferred. Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in a sensory-rich gym environment. Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills, with attention to safety and ethical care. CPR certification (Required within 60 days of start date)
