Labor and Delivery Float Pool Registered Nurse

TriStar Health seeks a Labor and Delivery Float Pool Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across multiple L&D and mother-baby units in Middle Tennessee. In this role, you will assess and monitor mothers and infants, interpret fetal heart tracings, support vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and respond to obstetric emergencies. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educate families, and adapt quickly to diverse clinical settings. Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients across multiple units Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal heart tracings, and respond to emergencies promptly Administer medications, IV therapies, inductions, and epidurals per provider orders and protocols Assist providers with deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric procedures Educate and support patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and support staff to coordinate patient care Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record Float between designated Tristar Health facilities based on staffing and patient acuity needs Participate in quality, safety, and infection-prevention initiatives on the unit Precept or mentor newer nurses and contribute to ongoing professional development Labor and delivery nursing Fetal heart monitoring and interpretation Obstetric emergency management (e.g., PPH, shoulder dystocia, eclampsia) Electronic fetal monitoring systems Maternal and newborn assessment IV therapy and medication administration in obstetrics Assisting with cesarean sections and obstetric procedures Electronic health record documentation Patient and family education in perinatal care Infection prevention and patient safety protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in TN or compact state Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (preferred) Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) certification (preferred)
