Building Maintenance Technician

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our healthcare and housing facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. In this field-based role, you’ll perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair building systems, and respond to work orders to minimize disruptions to client services. Duties include basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC support, and safety inspections. You’ll collaborate with mission-driven staff in a trauma-informed, inclusive environment while ensuring our spaces meet regulatory and safety standards for vulnerable individuals and families. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures across LSS facilities Respond to maintenance work orders, troubleshoot issues, and complete timely repairs to ensure safe environments Conduct basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC support tasks or coordinate vendors as needed Inspect facilities for safety hazards and code compliance, reporting and resolving issues promptly Maintain tools, inventory, and maintenance records in an organized, accurate manner Support room and equipment setup for programs and special events Collaborate with staff to minimize service disruption and uphold a trauma-informed, client-centered environment Participate in on-call rotation or emergency response as assigned Building maintenance and repair Basic plumbing Basic electrical troubleshooting Carpentry and drywall repair HVAC maintenance support Preventive maintenance scheduling Use of hand and power tools Work order and maintenance tracking systems Safety and OSHA compliance Reading blueprints and equipment manuals Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k EPA 608 certification (preferred) Journeyman or technical license in a skilled trade (preferred) OSHA 10 or other safety training (preferred) Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
