Job Purpose:
The Snow Sports Supervisor reports to the General Manager. The Snow Sports Supervisor is passionate about skiing and snowboarding. The Snow Sports Supervisor oversees all management of ski and snowboard schools as well as promoting skiing and snowboarding by providing quality lessons for our guests.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Assists the SSS Director in building and structuring the school offerings to best leverage demand, terrain, rental equipment and staffing
Assists/works closely with Guest Services in scheduling and processing lesson sales
Monitors instructors, classes and private lessons and participating guests when the SSS Director is unavailable
Responsible for ensuring the classes and schedules are created and inputted into Whitepeaks software so that they can be booked and purchased online and in person
Maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
Understands the need for meticulous and proactive organizational skills
Works with guests of all ages three years old to adult
Is fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
Has excellent guest service and communicative skills
Can work comfortably in a diverse and fast paced team environment
Assists the director in coordinating and conduct training sessions for both new and returning instructors, and support them on the slopes throughout the season
Assists the director in scheduling and assigning instructors according to anticipated lesson needs
Upholds the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions in a fast paced, potentially high-pressure environment
Assists the director in ensuring that new hire paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner
May participate in hiring activities
All other job duties as assigned
Essential Instructor Duties And Responsibilities:
May also include these duties if they are instructing
Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally
Assisting guests to load and unload the chairlift
Communicating instructions and helping guests to their feet during a lesson
Working with guests of all ages and abilities
When working with children: Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian
When working with children: Assisting in operational responsibilities of Ski & Snowboard programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities
