Data Validation Lead Pay:
  • $60/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)

We are seeking a Lead Data Tester to champion data integrity and quality across our video product ecosystem. This role is designed for a senior individual contributor who demonstrates strong technical leadership, accountability, and collaboration — with the potential to evolve into a formal management role. The ideal candidate combines hands-on expertise in QA and data validation with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies, validate data pipelines and analytics workflows, and drive continuous improvement in automation and data quality processes. You'll work closely with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure every data point powering our insights and decisions is accurate, consistent, and trustworthy.
Testing Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement robust testing frameworks for data validation across streaming and video products. Design manual and automated test cases to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout ETL and analytics pipelines. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure testing is integrated into development cycles and aligned with business priorities. Serve as a technical authority for data validation best practices, mentoring others informally through expertise and example.
Quality Oversight & Root Cause Analysis:
  • Lead investigation of high-impact data and feature defects, driving deep root cause analysis and documentation of findings.
  • Translate technical testing results into clear, actionable insights for both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Establish repeatable processes to prevent recurrence of critical issues and strengthen overall data reliability.
  • Build and maintain automated validation suites, dashboards, and quality monitors using tools such as OpenSearch, Tableau, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Explore and implement AI-driven or rule-based testing for proactive data anomaly detection and issue prevention.
  • Develop re-usable templates, documentation, and QA frameworks to standardize data testing across teams.
  • Define and track key data quality KPIs to measure effectiveness of validation efforts.
  • Contribute to data governance practices by ensuring alignment with compliance and audit standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency gains, and cross-team quality alignment.5+ years in QA, data validation, or related technical roles, with proven success in leading validation efforts as a senior individual contributor.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and test automation frameworks (PyTest, WebdriverIO, Mocha, etc.).Demonstrated experience testing data pipelines, APIs, and analytics workflows in CI/CD environments.
  • Interested in management track
  • Expertise in data visualization and QA dashboards (Tableau, OpenSearch).Experience testing across connected devices (iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, SamsungTV).Familiarity with Git, YAML, and data governance frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI- or ML-based validation and automation tools.
  • Interest in developing leadership and mentoring skills, with a long-term goal of growing into a management role.
