This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a secure and highly regulated environment. The LPN will support medical operations, ensure compliance with correctional healthcare standards, and assist in managing staff and patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to an incarcerated population in accordance with facility policies and nursing standards
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform clinical assessments as ordered
- Support nursing leadership in overseeing daily clinical operations
- Assist with staff coordination, delegation, and compliance monitoring
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and correctional security protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, RNs, mental health, and custody staff
- Uphold patient care standards while maintaining professional boundaries in a correctional environment
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
- Minimum 1 year of corrections experience
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage staff, compliance requirements, and patient care standards
- Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment
- Must meet all correctional facility compliance requirements, which may include:
- Criminal background check
- Drug screeningTB testing and immunization verification
- Facility-specific orientation and security training
