Abdominal, OB/GYN, and Vascular Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City in Lees Summit

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic sonographic exams in a tertiary care, teaching environment. In this patient-centered role, you will conduct vascular, abdominal, OB/GYN, and small-parts studies, ensuring accurate imaging, patient comfort, and adherence to safety and infection-control standards. You will collaborate closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams, document findings in the EMR, and support clinical excellence, education, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting. Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols Assess patient history, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout exams Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring image quality and proper documentation Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and care teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Adhere to infection control, regulatory, and hospital policies, maintaining a safe clinical environment Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record and manage exam records Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Provide PRN coverage, including variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed Diagnostic medical sonography Abdominal and pelvic ultrasound OB/GYN ultrasound imaging Vascular ultrasound techniques Ultrasound physics and instrumentation PACS and EMR documentation Patient positioning and workflow management Infection control and safety protocols Anatomy and pathology recognition on ultrasound Communication with physicians and care teams Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or eligible Additional ARDMS specialties (e.g., AB, OB/GYN, RVT) preferred BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Credentialing consistent with state and hospital requirements
