Role Certified Athletic Trainer – PRN, responsible for providing athletic training and sports medicine services to high school athletes.
Key Duties: Offer medical coverage during athletic events, evaluate and treat injuries, assist with injury prevention and rehabilitation, communicate activity restrictions and injury status, and collaborate with coaches, families, and healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate documentation, educate athletes on health and safety, and support community sports medicine activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, current BOC certification, Illinois license or eligibility, CPR/AED certification, and strong knowledge of anatomy, injury assessment, and therapeutic techniques. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and professionalism are essential. Skills & Attributes Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and handle emergency situations. Ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoor and indoor athletic settings, with physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and quick response to injuries.
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years in athletic training, especially with high school programs, and experience in healthcare or event coverage is advantageous.
