Position Overview:
The Yard Crew and Forklift Operator will report to the Yard Manager and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Yard. In this position, you will be part of a team that plays a critical role in the seamless service we provide to the customers of our marina.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Move boats using tractors, trucks and marina forklifts.
- Assist in launching and racking boats.
- Transport trailered boats using pick-up trucks to other locations.
- Complete daily inspections of all equipment.
- Remain up to date on OSHA and company guidelines and ensure they are being followed at the Yard.
- Keep up to date on all heavy marina equipment certifications.
- Report all equipment damages, accidents, and problems to the Yard Manager.
- Update boat locations in SpeedyDock.
- Keep Yard equipment and vehicles clean, neat and organized.
- Maintain and upkeep shop equipment including trailers, trucks, jack stands, wash stands
- Assist with snow removal around storage buildings, boats, and walkways in the Winter season.
- Adhere to closing procedures including locking up access to buildings, storage facilities and equipment
- Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years experience using heavy equipment.
Valid Drivers license, required.
Clean driving record, required.
Experience using SpeedyDock, preferred.
Marina Forklift experience, preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Thrives in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
Education, Licensing & Skills: Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.
Wages, Compensation and Benefits: Hourly position and overtime available. Bonus opportunities available.
