Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Senior Contracts Administrator is responsible for preparing, reviewing, negotiating, and administering construction-related contracts, subcontracts, and agreements in coordination with legal and project teams. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, manages the full contract lifecycle through a contract management system, and assesses contractual risks to recommend effective mitigation strategies. The position partners closely with project managers and business units to support contract interpretation and compliance throughout project execution. The Senior Contracts Administrator also handles complex, higher-risk, and non-standard contractual matters, provides guidance to Contracts Administrators and business stakeholders, and supports continuous improvement of contracting processes and standards.
Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and negotiate and administer complex and higher risk construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements in coordination with legal and project teams. Ensure contracts comply with federal, state, and local, including lien laws, prevailing wage requirements, prompt payment statutes, and applicable indemnification restrictions. Manage the full contract lifecycle using the contract management system, including intake, review, approvals, negotiation, execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout. Analyze contractual obligations, risk allocation, and recommend solutions. Collaborate with project managers, business units, and divisions to align contract terms with project goals and provide guidance on complex contractual issues and negotiation. Support teams in interpreting contract requirements and ensuring compliance throughout project execution. Identify and assess potential risks in contracts and develop strategies to mitigate exposure. Monitor and stay current on construction laws, regulations, and best practices, including prompt payment statutes and lien rights. Serve as a resource to Contracts Administrators on complex negotiations, contractual issues, risk assessment, and contracting practices, providing guidance and knowledge sharing as needed. Support the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, procedures, standards, and contract management processes. Lead or participate in special projects, training, and contracting initiatives requiring advanced contract knowledge and cross-functional coordination.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any field of study 5+ years of demonstrated experience with construction contracts Knowledge of contract negotiation, procurement, and purchasing systems Knowledge of Contract Management Systems Knowledge of Adobe Professional Excellent customer service, strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to muti-task and strong decision-making skills. Self-starter who takes responsibility and achieves results Proficient in using MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in any field of study 7+ years of demonstrated experience with construction contracts Proficient in contract negotiation, procurement, and purchasing systems Proficiency in Adobe Professional Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast paced, dynamic work environment with great attention to detail. Proven ability to earn trust from peers and stakeholders to drive results. Understanding of contracting and procurement terminology, measures, concepts, principles and strategies
