Description: American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift seasonal travel assignment requiring at least one year of recent pediatric nursing experience and a Colorado or compact RN license. Details Peds Step Down unit with 36 private rooms featuring parent sleeping accommodations Mixed care population including step-down patients (spinal fusions, chest tubes, high flow oxygen) and basic care patients Step-down patients staffed at 1:3 ratio, basic care patients staffed at 1:4Uses Phillips monitors and Meditech EMRNight shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AMEvery other weekend required No CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vent patients managed on this unit (transferred to PICU)
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in Colorado currently in hand
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of current Pediatric RN experience required
  • Must be comfortable managing high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tube patients
  • Prior Meditech experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 monthsUS SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
Additional Information:
  • Perform pediatric nursing care including NGT, Foley, and PICC/TP tube management, PIVs, and phlebotomy (accuvein available in department)
  • Occasional lumbar puncture procedures may occur
  • Fast-paced team environment that values collaboration and mutual support
  • First-time travelers will not be placed on day shift and must be willing to work night shift
  • Candidates with multiple years of travel nursing experience given priority consideration
  • On-site parking available free of charge with direct bridge access to the department
  • Scheduling flexibility is emphasized, with travelers' preferences considered alongside full-time staff
  • No local candidates accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies
