Shift:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday & alternating Mondays | 12-hour rotating shiftTraining Schedule: During the month of October, training is expected to take place on the traditional production 1st shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. This schedule is subject to change. Some overtime may be requested based on production needs.
Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a Group Lead to support manufacturing operations for our client in Scarborough, Maine. This role helps coordinate day-to-day production activities, supports manufacturing personnel, monitors quality and output, and helps ensure production schedules and operational goals are met. The Group Lead will work closely with supervisors and manufacturing operators to communicate priorities, address production challenges, support training, and promote quality and continuous improvement throughout the assigned work area.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with coordinating production activities within assigned work areas to maintain continuous processing in accordance with build schedules. Communicate work instructions, production priorities, and supervisory objectives to personnel in designated areas. Support achievement of production, quality, and operational goals. Conduct routine process and quality audits involving personnel, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing activities. Notify supervisors and appropriate contacts of equipment failures or operational issues. Gather and communicate information regarding work-in-process (WIP) inventory and daily production output. Coordinate and support training for manufacturing operators as required. Provide feedback regarding defects and assist with retraining when needed. Help expedite priority products, production tasks, and other critical activities. Perform inspection and disposition activities for rejected components in accordance with established documentation and direction. Perform direct manufacturing operations when necessary to support production schedules. Stay current with applicable processes, regulatory requirements, company products, operational objectives, and relevant industry developments. Coordinate purchase requests for required equipment and services. Help resolve production problems, identify potential causes, and support corrective actions designed to prevent recurrence. Conduct daily meetings with manufacturing operators to improve communication and support continuous improvement initiatives. Verify that preventive maintenance and calibration stickers are current. Conduct 5S audits and participate in weekly meetings with Group Leads from other value stream areas. Support BBSP observations and employee needs, including training and Employee Self Service activities. Support company initiatives, the Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and applicable regulatory requirements. Follow established company policies, procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements. Maintain positive and professional working relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or related operational environment preferred. Experience coordinating workflow, production activities, or manufacturing personnel is highly desirable. Ability to support production schedules, quality requirements, and daily output goals. Familiarity with manufacturing quality processes, audits, work-in-process inventory, and production documentation. Experience training or providing guidance to manufacturing personnel is preferred. Familiarity with preventive maintenance, calibration requirements, and 5S principles is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify production issues and support effective corrective actions. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple production priorities. Ability to work effectively in a regulated manufacturing environment and follow established quality systems, policies, and procedures. Ability to work the required 12-hour rotating schedule and participate in overtime when requested.
