Acute Care Medical Registered Nurse

UCHealth is seeking an RN for our Acute Care Medical unit. In this role, you will provide patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care to diverse adult populations with complex medical conditions. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications and treatments, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families. You will support quality and safety initiatives, use electronic health records, and precept or mentor as needed. Provide direct nursing care to adult acute medical patients Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient status Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Document care and assessments in the electronic health record Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Precept and mentor new nurses or students as assigned Acute care nursing Patient assessment Care planning IV therapy and medication administration Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Wound care Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Infection control practices Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current RN license in state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required per unit BSN strongly preferred or required within set timeframe Experience with electronic health records (EHR) Specialty certification in medical-surgical nursing (CMSRN) preferred
