Join our team as an Accounting Technician in Special Education! Bring your accuracy and problem-solving skills to a team that supports schools and families across Santa Barbara County. As an Accounting Technician, you’ll provide technical budget and accounting support for Special Education, processing and auditing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing accurate financial records and reports. You’ll also manage accounts payable, monitor budgets and grant funds, and support year-end close. Along the way, you’ll partner with SBCEO staff, vendors, and outside agencies to resolve questions and keep us compliant with applicable requirements. General Description: Under general supervision, perform a variety of complex and technical budget and accounting duties in support of an assigned program or centralized function; maintain, review, audit, and adjust assigned accounts; process, record, and audit various transactions; prepare, reconcile, and maintain a variety of financial records, reports, and statements.
Requirements
Education: Possession of an associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience performing clerical accounting or bookkeeping duties. Experience in a public sector or public school setting is preferred. Comments and Other Information
