American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit requiring NRP certification and prior Level IV NICU experience. Details Level IV NICU accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics with 40 beds Nurse to patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for critical and intermediate infants, and 3:1 for growing/feeding infants12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday, will consider 48s per week Floating required to PICU and PEDS units Uses EPIC charting system (OneChart) Unit equipment includes conventional and high frequency ventilators (Draeger, jet and oscillator), nitric oxide, cool cap, MedFusion pumps, Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, and Accudose
Requirements:
  • Active ND or Compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS certification from the American Heart Association requiredCurrent NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Prior Level IV NICU experience required
  • Must be able to administer medications through a PICC line
  • Experience performing neonatal assessments and caring for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, oral and IV medications, OG and NG feedings, and G-tubesEPIC experience highly preferred
  • Must be willing and able to float to PICU and PEDS units
Additional Information:
  • Deliver nursing care to neonates including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, intervention, evaluation, and charting
  • Assist with procedures including intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions
  • Work closely with the NICU care team
  • Orientation includes EPIC (OneChart) training and 2 days with a buddy to learn unit norms and assess infant acuity level
  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
  • Child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pants required
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible for a reduced local pay rate
  • Candidates with prior employment at any Sanford Health facility must disclose this information for consideration
