THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking an experienced Franchise Business Consultant to support a growing network of bakery cafés and franchise locations. This role is responsible for helping franchise owners and General Managers maximize sales, profitability, operational execution, guest experience, and team performance across an assigned market. The Franchise Business Consultant will serve as a strategic operational partner to franchisees, providing coaching, business guidance, training support, performance analysis, and accountability while ensuring consistent brand and operational standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Franchisee Business Consulting Serve as a primary operational resource and business partner to assigned franchise owners and General Managers Coach franchisees and café leadership teams on sales growth, profitability, labor management, guest experience, and operational execution Review café performance and identify opportunities for improvement Develop and follow up on measurable action plans for underperforming locations Help franchisees establish effective systems for managing performance, staffing, training, and accountability Provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and operational support to franchise teams Operations & Brand Standards Regularly visit assigned cafés to evaluate operational execution and guest service Ensure consistent adherence to brand standards, policies, procedures, and operating expectations Identify operational gaps and work with franchisees to implement corrective action Monitor food quality, beverage execution, service standards, cleanliness, and overall guest experience Ensure compliance with food safety, health, sanitation, and applicable local and state regulations Support preventive maintenance and proper upkeep of café facilities Financial & Business Performance Review café-level P&Ls, sales performance, labor, inventory, and other key business metrics Help franchisees understand financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability Support the development of focused sales and marketing plans Monitor progress against financial and operational goals Use data and business performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring action Partner with franchisees to develop practical strategies for revenue and cash-flow growth Training & Leadership Development Identify training needs across assigned franchise locations Partner with training teams to coordinate and implement appropriate development programs Facilitate one-on-one and group training for franchise owners, General Managers, and café teams as needed Coach leaders on employee development, performance management, and succession planning Support franchisees in implementing skills evaluations, assessments, and performance-management processes Create a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional development Recognize strong performance while providing constructive feedback when improvement is needed Sales & Guest Experience Drive a consistent focus on exceptional guest service across assigned locations Monitor guest feedback and help franchisees address service issues quickly and effectively Support local sales and marketing initiatives designed to increase traffic and revenue Ensure café managers have focused, actionable sales-building plans Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and overall brand experience New Store & Growth Support Support franchisees with new café openings and operational readiness Assist with the implementation of processes and standards at new locations Travel regularly to current franchise locations and future development markets Serve as an operational brand ambassador during the organization's continued expansionWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience 5–7+ years of progressive experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, entertainment, or another high-volume customer-facing environment 3–5+ years of management and multi-unit leadership experience Experience working directly with franchisees or independently operated locations strongly preferred Strong understanding of restaurant operations, sales, labor, inventory, and profitability Demonstrated P&L and financial management capabilities Strong sales and marketing understanding Experience coaching and developing General Managers and other operational leaders Strong inventory planning and management skills Working knowledge of POS systems; Toast experience preferred Proven ability to analyze performance and turn business challenges into actionable improvement plans Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills High emotional intelligence and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and leadership styles Comfortable providing both recognition and constructive feedback Self-motivated, adaptable, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Willingness to travel regularly between assigned franchise and corporate locationsIDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate is a hands-on multi-unit restaurant or hospitality leader who enjoys coaching operators rather than simply managing stores directly. You should be comfortable walking into a café, quickly assessing the operation, reviewing the numbers, identifying the biggest opportunities, and partnering with the franchise owner or General Manager to create a practical plan for improvement. Strong candidates will bring a combination of restaurant operations expertise, financial/business acumen, leadership development skills, and exceptional relationship-building abilities.
